Dr. Muyassar Rafieva

Muyasar Rafieva is the founder of the Partnership, and she has been leading the firm with great success for almost 30 years, providing guidance and direction to the team to improve client service.

With her experience in IP, Muyasar has built a thriving network of boutique, full-service IP firms worldwide and has significantly contributed to the growth and development of the IP profession in the country.

Muyasar’s practice ranges through all areas of IP and currently concentrates on negotiating strategies, brand development, and enforcement of IP rights. She has successfully represented both regional and multinational clients across all industries throughout her career.

As a specialist, she is an IP expert in Economic Courts, has also been advising leading manufacturers in multiple cases against lookalikes in Tajikistan, and directs all her efforts to improve IP rights protection in Tajikistan.

Takhmina Dzhalilova

With almost 20 years of experience in intellectual property, Takhmina advises clients on all aspects of IP law, particularly on the clearance, prosecution, and enforcement of trademarks in Tajikistan. She advises clients on filing strategies using the national route and the Madrid System for international brands and represents them before Tajik Patent Office and customs authorities.

Takhmina’s practice also focuses on patents and contentious patent and industrial design matters. Takhmina also handles trademark disputes. She represents clients before the courts and the intellectual property office in office actions and opposition cases and handles complex assignment and license recordation cases. Takhmina has represented well-known automotive, pharmaceutical, technology, fuel, alcoholic beverages, apparel, and many other companies in opposition cases, overcoming office actions and prosecution.

Before joining the Partnership in 2004, Takhmina practiced medicine as an otorhinolaryngologist.

Rafijan Rafiev

With degrees in nuclear physics and later in software development, Rafijon’s practice focuses not only on trademarks but on patents, particularly on preparing the preparation of patent applications and prosecution before the Tajik Patent Office. He also counsels clients on the clearance, maintenance, and enforcement of trademarks in Tajikistan.

Before starting his career as Trademark and Patent Attorney assistant in 1995, Rafijon was a part-time lecturer at Tajik National University and has run his own business in software development. Rafijon joined the Partnership as a Patent and Trademark Attorney in 2006.
